Kinky Boots London 22nd August 2015

LONDON GETS KINKY

So i have been looking forward to seeing this show since it was announced that it would be coming to the west end..As soon as tickets were on sale my friend booked them for us both but August seemed so far away but low and behold it crept up very quickly..
Its the first time i have been to the Adelphi Theatre and the first thing that struck me was how friendly the front of house staff were very welcoming and very polite which was nice to see..
My first stop was the merchandise stand which is always a favourite part of mine and i was amazed by what they had was a very good selection of stuff,T shirts, mugs, key rings, kinky socks, shot glasses, magnets etc
So it was time to take our seats and we were sat in the upper circle and for once wasn't a massive walk up stairs to get to it...we were sat in row N and seats 8 & 9 and the view was amazing i thought the only thing that we will miss would the very front of stage...so dead on 2.30 the show started and instead of the usual please turn your phones off spoken over a speaker a member of the cast (i think it was anyway) came on stage on a mobile phone saying i can't talk right now i will call you in the break and oh please don't take any photos and please turn your vibrations off on your phone its very distracting i thought that was a really great touch and made me chuckle...

So the lights went down and the sounds of Price & son theme / The most beautiful thing in the world started with the full company and i was sold straight away..
As the show went on it just got better and better and funnier there was a few emotional parts which did make me shed a tear but then i went back to laughter again..
The one part that stood out was when Matt Henry came on as Lola and there was lots of roars from the crowd and i do have to say he was the highlight of the show for me and i was totally blown away by his performance and to be able to walk and dance in heels the way he did was just amazing,i also loved the Angels once again they walked and danced better in heels then any woman could..
Every song was catchy and had my foot tapping and you could tell there was a cyndi lauper vibe to them which i enjoyed..But my favs had to be Land of Lola,Sex is in the Heel and The history of wrong guys which i think most women could relate to haha.. and of course the finale song Raise you up/Just be

The staging was great and the set was moved around by cast members as the scenes changed which i liked, all the cast were fabulous and to be honest i would never of known it was there second performance as it was on point and vocally fantastic but will be going again at some point to see if anything has changed etc..
So my thoughts on Kinky Boots is that its a great show and i will be booking again and i highly recommend you get yourself a ticket and get Kinky...
It takes a lot for a show to want me to go a second time and Kinky boots has definitely done that to me and i can't wait to go again... I have even downloaded the soundtrack and currently listening to it while writing this blog and I've got the Kinky bug (that sounds a bit wrong) but you all know what i mean..

I give Kinky Boots a massive 5 boots

Thanks for Reading
