A Spoonful of Sherman UK Tour - Greenwich

A Spoonful of Sherman UK Tour

Hey Everyone,

This week the amazing Spoonful of Sherman tour is in London at the Greenwich Theatre. For those of you haven't had a chance to see it now is the time to go and grab a ticket for what is a great couple of hours with some timeless classics.

The show features the music by the incredibly talented Sherman Brothers, their back catalogue lays claim to some of the most iconic songs from films such as Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to name a few.

The whole cast do it complete justice and it's so lovely to see the songs you grew up with being performed on stage. My favourite has to be "Let's Go Fly a Kite" but there is a vast range of songs that cover many generations and something for everyone.

I was very lucky on Monday to meet Robbie Sherman and speak to him about the show and his family's legacy. Listening to all the music you quickly realise how big the legacy is and how many generations it has crossed.

The tour continues to June around the UK if you have been or are due to go make sure you let us know what you thought.

Have a great rest of the week

Chicago Launch - Live at Zedel

Chicago Press launch - Bar Zedel London

Hey Everyone

So this morning was a very exciting one. Hosted at the amazing venue Bar Zedel the Razzle Dazzle firmly returned to the Westend with the launch of the show and the new cast who take to the stage next week at the Phoenix Theatre.

First up the amazingly beautiful venue Bar Zedel in Piccadilly Circus. If you haven't been here before it is stunningly art deco and a joy to look round. With pictures of old casts of the show mixed in with ones of the new show the excitement really is building now to see it in its glory on stage again.
We were treated to some great performances along with Ruthie Henshall taking on the role of Mamma Morton and Cuba Gooding JR taking on the role of Billy Flynn and the rest of the amazing cast.

The show opens next week and has already got its first extension through to October 6th. If you are looking for a show to see this one totally gets my vote. The posters are everywhere around London and one if its favourite shows is about to return

Have a great week everyone

Blog Birthday Throwback : 2017 Memories

Hey Everyone,

So today marks the blogs 3rd birthday and to celebrate here's a Throwback to some of my favourite show memories from 2017

42nd Street - Theatre Royal Drury Lane
I think I can honestly say I feel in love with this show about 20 seconds after the curtain went up and seeing not only the energy that came from the incredible cast but also the response from the audience after the first number. The whole show from start to finish with the dancing and the great soundtrack I promise you will want to take up dancing when you leave.

DreamGirls - Savoy Theatre
This show was amazing, I got a very last minute ticket and had a great view. I was a big fan of the film and seeing the stage version did it justice. Hearing the reaction and seeing the Standing Ovation for ' I Am Telling You' in the first half was something very special to see. The power in the voices of the cast for these songs is something worth going to see the show for alone.

Flashdance tour Wimbledon and Liverpool

This show became a firm favourite with us last year, full of 80's hits and incredible dancing each performance we saw just got better and better. The energy with the whole cast leaves you on a high especially after a great finale you will have the soundtrack in your head for days after. Both Ben and Joanne have been great to watch on the tour and we both hope we can make some more dates this year to see

Footloose Tour
I was lucky to see the tour at a few venues last year but my highlight was to see it back in the Westend for a short visit at the Peacock Theatre in London. Each show I saw with the great cast was a great night. The cast played this version of the show so well and I hope to see it back on stage very soon.

On a personal note I want to say thank you to everyones support for reading the blogs its been a great year but theres a lot more planned for 2018

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend

Wicked UK Tour - Liverpool

Wicked - Liverpool Empire Theatre 10th March 2018

Hey Everyone,

I'm handing over to Jenni for this blog on her visit to the start of the brand new Wicked UK tour that opened in Liverpool last week

This week the Wicked Witch of the West flew into Liverpool, turning the city a spectacular shade of green.
The award winning musical tells the reimagined story of The Wizard of Oz, teaching us that you can’t always judge a book by its cover.

Having seen the show once before, I knew what to expect and wasn’t disappointed. The unlikely friendship of Glinda, played by Helen Woolf, and bright green Elphaba, Amy Ross, was performed brilliantly.
The shows soundtrack is, for me, its selling point, and both girls voices were phenomenal.
The first half builds to a climax with the best known song ‘Defying Gravity’ – I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, but it’ll have you out of your seat cheering for more.

It’s rare that a show manages to tour the country, while maintaining the set, costumes, and cast which make you feel like you could be watching in the West End.
Wicked is at the Liverpool Empire until 31st March, and then continues on its UK tour.  See it while you can!

Thanks for checking out the review

Love Jenni
