Fame Uk Tour - Manchester 26th July 18

Fame UK Tour - Manchester 26th July 18

Hey Everyone

So for tonight’s review I’m handing over to Ali who is reviewing the Fame UK Tour up in Manchester

Here is her review from tonight’s show

It’s been 30 years since Fame first opened on Broadway in 1988.  I was a child, much to young to know anything about the phenomenon that has now has no less than 7 west end runs.  Yet the iconic songs from the musical seem to have always been a part of my life, I can’t remember not knowing the words!

We took our seats minutes before the show was about to start, and from the beginning I was enjoying myself. The music, lights, dancing captured me straight away. But one of the things I’m really a fan of is the costumes. Crop tops, tights, shorts and leg warmers! What girl didn’t grow up wanting to wear those and dance?

I’ll be honest I don’t know much about Jorgie Porters background other than her stint in holly oaks, but to watch her dance, I was more than impressed. As Iris she was cute and endearing in the way Jorgie does best!

Mica Paris as Miss Sherman blew the audience away singing ‘these are my children’. Ending to a standing ovation mid show.

The show not only captures fun and talent , but also tackles real life issues. From the teenage crush and unrequited love to dyslexia and drug abuse. Touching subjects handled well.

Overall an extremely enjoyable night.  Often in a show I will get distracted by the set changes and goings on in the background but tonight I was engrossed from start to finish.

My night at the theatre may be over for now, but Fame really is gonna live forever!

Madagascar UK Tour - New Wimbledon Theatre

Madagascar UK Tour

New Wimbledon Theatre

25th July 18

Hey Everyone

Welcome to what can only be described as one of the hottest press nights we’ve been too.

Tonight at the New Wimbledon Theatre was the press night for the brand new stage adaption of Madagascar the Musical.

If you’ve seen the films you will know the adventures of Alex, Gloria, Marty, Melman,   King Julien and of course the Penguins. With Matt Terry taking on the role of Alex the Lion the show takes us on the adventure when the animals escape from Central Park Zoo and end up in Madagascar.

The soundtrack to the show had everyone singing along with a firm favourite of all fans dancing along to I Like to Move It. We all agreed the dancing and performance that went with this song made a great highlight of the show.

The kids loved it from the start and couldn’t stop talking about it as we left.

I have to give a special to all the cast in costumes and controlling the puppets, you managed so well in the heat.

You wouldn’t know looking at the cast the show is a few days old they look like the show has been going for a few months they work that well together.

I have to say some films I am sceptical of when they say are being made into a show but now after seeing the whole show tonight I’m completely sold.

This show is perfect for its younger audience and will have them captured when they see it.

We all recommend it, the kids loved it and didn’t want it to finish.

If you are looking for a show to see with the family this is our recommendation for you for 2018

Don’t forget to leave us a comment if you’ve seen the show or are going to see it.

Have a great rest of the week

Flashdance UK tour - Milton Keynes

Flashdance Tour - Milton Keynes

Hey Everyone

Welcome to a very Flashdance themed blog with our day out in Milton Keynes this weekend.

It’s been a while since both of us have been to the Milton Keynes Theatre and we both agreed that it rates high up in our favourites to visit. It gets bonus points for the extra legroom and how nice and cool the Aircon was.

It’s been a while since we’ve both seen the show so it was great to see some of the changes that have been made.
The energy from both shows today was amazing but Joanne Clifton seriously steals it with how much she puts into each flawless performance.

We both agree that Ben and Joanne’s performance of Here and Now is one of the highlights of the show and if you haven’t already head over to ITunes to download it now (we definitely think this should pave a way for a cast album as they smash every song)

If you haven’t already seen the tour and love the 80s music and the film go and grab a ticket now

We do have to ask Joanne - why did you drag Ben across the stage by his feet ? That was brilliant

Hope you all have a great week

The Muppets take The o2

The Muppets take The o2 - 13th July 18

Hey Everyone

Well what can I say last night at The o2 arena a lot of my childhood dreams came true. I’ve been a huge fan of The Muppets since I was young and I think a huge geek level was reached getting to see them live on stage.

The show itself was filled was classics that all generations knew from young to old. I can safely say I think everyone enjoyed it from start to finish.

There were also some very special guests including David Tennant reprising his role of Dr Who and a special appearance from Kylie Minogue singing with Kermit which was a great highlight of the evening.

The show was so well put together and had everyone entertained and in my opinion really went too quick. I really hope more of these shows follow again one day.

Check over on Instagram for some more pictures from the show
