Kerry Ellis - Live at The Union Chapel London

Kerry Ellis Live at The Union Chapel London

Hey Everyone,

Well what a blog I have in store for you all tonight.

Tonight Kerry Ellis kicked off her 20th anniversary tour at The Union Chapel and what an evening it was.

I'll start first with the Meet and Greet, I've been lucky to see Kerry a few times before but took to the opportunity to book this in as well as the ticket for the show and it was by far the best choice to make.

On arrival I had about 10 mins to wait until our group were taken in to the chapel.
If you've never had a chance to visit this venue it is stunning. It was also a perfect venue to come into to see Defying Gravity being sound checked as well.
After listening to a few songs being sound checked Kerry then came to spend some time with us. This was one of the nicest and most relaxed meet and greets I've ever been to and in such a perfect venue.

The show was incredible we were allowed to stay in our seats from the meet and greet which made the show even more special.
The first part of the show focused on Kerry's recent album Glory Days which if you haven't got it already features some great tracks.

Along with the second half came some old firm fan favourites including a trip down memory lane to We Will Rock You and not forgetting Wicked. With the audience taking on the role Glinda we all sang along with Kerry as she sang For Good. Listening to everyone singing along was one of those very special goose bump moments which I will never forget.
Joe McElderry made a surprise appearance where he sang with Kerry with their version of I've had the Time of my life from Dirty Dancing which had everyone singing along.
Joining Kerry on stage tonight were also the London Stage Choir who sounded brilliant. Coming back on stage for the encore they made Defying Gravity that much more incredible.

If you get the chance make sure you grab a ticket for one of the dates on the tour, its so good to see Kerry back on stage singing and I am so glad I was there tonight to see this performance.

Don't forget to check out our instagram on https://www.instagram.com/boxofficebloggers/ for some more pictures and videos from tonights show

Have a great weekend

Eugenius - what the audiences are saying

Go Eugenius - it’s a 5 Star hit

The posters quote “ You already need to see it again” and it’s totally 100% true it is very hard not to give the show anything less than its well deserved 5 stars.
In a week of shows the feedback has already taken social media by storm and with a fast growing fan base the show is firmly cementing its place within the Westend shows that you have to see in London.

The show is pure nostalgia that everyone can relate to on different levels no matter what year of the 80’s you were born in or have memories from. From what is being called ‘This generations Rocky Horror Picture Show’ the show is gaining a cult status with every performance.

The story is formed around Eugene and his love for comic books and what happens when his dreams and real life collide. Along with Janey and Feris we follow the story of Eugene's adventures of turning his comic book dream into reality.

The audiences reactions literally speak for themselves night after night, the energy that comes from the packed out crowd is there from the start to finish of the show with standing ovations at the end of every show.

The audiences reactions say everything you need to know after a week of previews

Well that was one of the best things I’ve ever seen

Beautiful songs and the best one liners

You know a musical was good when you can’t wait to see it again

All of the pop culture references were just spot on

6 words – see it and feel the joy

The soundtrack has also taken the shows fan base by storm arriving on Spotify, Itunes and music streaming services about 2 weeks ago I think everyone who has seen the show has left with them stuck in their head

Social media has been full of great comments in support of the music

‘Last two on stage get to sing a power ballad?’ always aim to be the last on stage

I still have the song in my head from last night. ‘ Go Eugenius Go Eugene”

Wow those songs are catchy anthems – feel we have a future cult musical on our hands

Such an uplifting show left me singing all night long

Really hard not to repeatedly punch the air whilst walking home

For the past week social media has nothing but praise and love for the cast and team,  you will find it hard not to love the show that is fast stealing the inner geek of everyone that has been so far. The previews sold out and with sold out shows this week extra ones have already been added to deal with demand over rest of the run.
There is something for everyone in the production including a guest appearance from Mark Hamill as Kevin the robot.
All you need now is a ticket and to get yourself down to The Other Palace in Victoria where the show is running until March 3rd.
