Kerry Ellis - Live at The Union Chapel London
Kerry Ellis Live at The Union Chapel London
Hey Everyone,
Well what a blog I have in store for you all tonight.
Tonight Kerry Ellis kicked off her 20th anniversary tour at The Union Chapel and what an evening it was.
I'll start first with the Meet and Greet, I've been lucky to see Kerry a few times before but took to the opportunity to book this in as well as the ticket for the show and it was by far the best choice to make.
On arrival I had about 10 mins to wait until our group were taken in to the chapel.
If you've never had a chance to visit this venue it is stunning. It was also a perfect venue to come into to see Defying Gravity being sound checked as well.
After listening to a few songs being sound checked Kerry then came to spend some time with us. This was one of the nicest and most relaxed meet and greets I've ever been to and in such a perfect venue.
The show was incredible we were allowed to stay in our seats from the meet and greet which made the show even more special.
The first part of the show focused on Kerry's recent album Glory Days which if you haven't got it already features some great tracks.
Along with the second half came some old firm fan favourites including a trip down memory lane to We Will Rock You and not forgetting Wicked. With the audience taking on the role Glinda we all sang along with Kerry as she sang For Good. Listening to everyone singing along was one of those very special goose bump moments which I will never forget.
Joe McElderry made a surprise appearance where he sang with Kerry with their version of I've had the Time of my life from Dirty Dancing which had everyone singing along.
Joining Kerry on stage tonight were also the London Stage Choir who sounded brilliant. Coming back on stage for the encore they made Defying Gravity that much more incredible.
If you get the chance make sure you grab a ticket for one of the dates on the tour, its so good to see Kerry back on stage singing and I am so glad I was there tonight to see this performance.
